Student entries have resulted in numerous national award-winning designs in RHS shows such as Chelsea, Hampton Court and Chatsworth, alongside the Ideal Home Exhibition and the world’s largest show garden ever for The Game Fair Gardens at Hatfield House.
The College has an unparalleled range of exceptional quality teaching resources in terms of the specialist designated design studios and managed gardens and grounds in which they sit. IT facilities allow for the teaching of Computer Aided Design (CAD) techniques alongside more traditional drawing skills and practice.
Our various courses offer you a wide range of study topics that will prepare you for working life as a professional practitioner or a more accomplished amateur. Our courses cover understanding design theory and aesthetics; drawing skills and techniques (personal and digital); site surveying and setting out; to an essential knowledge of plants, planting and practical horticulture for garden design.
All of our Garden Design tutors are highly educated, trained, skilled and knowledgeable professionals who are able to offer students an exceptional range of industry experiences throughout their course of study. National and international work experiences are translated into informative and exciting teaching and learning opportunities.
