Event decoration, contract work, function decorating and exhibition design all require the skills of a florist, so there are a host of employment opportunities as either an employee or to start up your own floristry business.
At Capel Manor we pride ourselves in training people to become commercial florists and to have the ability of constructing a vast range of floral designs to suit all customer specifications. Many of our courses include both in house training and opportunities of work experience within a florist retail outlet to ensure all aspects of the florist industry are covered. In addition, the art of balloon d茅cor is taught as a specialist course in its own right, to further extend d茅cor skills to maximise employment and business opportunities.

Capel Manor鈥檚 school of floristry has been in the unique position of being the only nationally accredited Centre of Vocational Excellence for Floristry and Business Enterprise, and has been awarded Grade 1 status from Ofsted in three recent inspections. Our courses are ideal for career changers, aspiring florists/ balloon artists or those planning to set themselves up in business.
This creative craft qualification incorporating balloon design and decor will provide you with a sound foundation of knowledge and competence in the skills and techniques of traditional and contemporary balloon artistry.
On this one-year course is suitable for school leavers who wish to explore their creativity. You will receive an introduction to the world of floristry and the opportunity to learn basic practical skills required to start in the industry.
